I have a wall that is painted with matte black paint. Every mark shows. How do I clean it?

unfortunately, there is very little you can do to clean walls painted with matte paint. your best bet will be to wash the walls with a little water %26amp; non-residue cleaner (check your local paint store for a recomendation on cleaner) and then paint again. i highly recomend changing to an eggshell finish - its just below satin on the sheen scale but is hard enough to withstand a little marking and is easily cleanable.





flat or matte finish paint should only be used in areas that are unlikely to be marked in anyway (like the wall behind the sofa or bookcase) - not in high traffic areas (like hallways or exposed walls in living spaces).I have a wall that is painted with matte black paint. If you used a flat black paint I'm afraid it won't clean up everytime you wipe the spot the paint will come off. However if you used a product called ulti-matt which is made by Benjamin Moore you will be able to wipe with just water. Do you have touch-up paint? If not...get some or repaint with a more forgiving color. Flat paint is so hard to clean, the darker the color, the worse. Plus there's the chipping issue.
That's a hard one... Clean it with a sponge and regular cleaner, even a satin would be easier to clean than flat...
