How much would painting two of my walls probably cost?

i'm redoing my room and i want to paint two of my walls purple. my mom says i can spend a maximum of 600 bucks on my room (plus i'm getting new furniture and all that) My walls are about 8 feet high and i just want to paint two of them. It's a pretty much averaged sized room. i don't know the width of the room or anything...but approximately how much would that cost? How much would painting two of my walls probably cost?
Let's say your room is 12 feet by 12 feet with 8 foot high ceilings. Each wall would be 8 x 12 = 96 square feet in area. Let's round that up to 100 square feet. Two walls would then be 200 square feet in area. One gallon of paint will cover about 300 to 400 square feet. Divide that by 2 since you will probably have to use two coats. So one gallon of paint will cover about 150 to 200 square feet. Since we didn't account for windows and doors it would seem that one gallon of paint may be enough. You will also need a gallon of primer, unless the new paint color is close to the old paint color. Also since you are going with a dark color then you should get the primer tinted purple too or plan on using three coats of paint and get a second gallon.

So now we have 1 or 2 gallons of paint and a gallon of primer. You will probably need about a quart of trim paint too. Medium priced paints run about $15 to $20 per gallon or about $60 and the quart of trim paint will run you about $10. So, conservatively, you are looking at about $70 for paint. You will need some rollers, a pan, roller extension pole ($15) and a trim brush and a cut-in brush ($10). That makes it about $95. Through in a few bucks for some plastic drop cloth and you are probably looking at $100.

If you are careful with painting so you could get by with only a gallon of paint and choose a less expensive paint and could borrow rollers and brushes from someone then you could get by for under $50.

This assumes you are painting it yourself. If you hire a painter to do it then it would be 3X to 4X or about $100 to $200.How much would painting two of my walls probably cost?
Just a tip, be sure to check at your paint or hardware store for the 'mistake' paint. That would be paint mixed for other customers that didn't quite work out to be the color they wanted. I've purchased plenty of paint like that for under $5.00 per gallon and have been perfectly happy with my purchases!
Average cost for painting a wall will run you about $100 or less per wall given there is not much prep work to do. However, find a good contractor and have your parents verify references etc.

That depends on the color you're looking to paint them and the size of the can of paint you buy...most cans go from $10-$20. You might want to check your local harware store though, especially if you're looking for a certain color or brand.
