Painting an accent wall...opinions please

im painting my newly finished basement which is approx 600 sq feet. We want to use 1 dark accent wall but dont know if we should do the long straight wall, or the wall that has different angles?? any opinions????Painting an accent wall...opinions please
Some of that may be dictated by lighting. Would painting the long straight wall with a dark color make the room seem too dark or too small, especially since it's in a basement and probably doesn't have a lot of ambient light?

On the other hand, painting the wall with lots of angles may be more difficult, and may bounce the color around the room in a different way.

It also probably depends on the placement of furniture in the room as to which wall would work best as the ';accent'; wall.

It is very hard to say without a visual. You might try hanging sheets in an similar color on on or both walls to try and simulate the effect of painting that's doable. Otherwise, just go with your gut instinct and majority opinion of those who have seen the wall in person.

Good luck!Painting an accent wall...opinions please
Your accent wall is probably going to be the visual anchor or focal point to the room. You might consider painting the wall behind the most substantial piece of furniture.
