Redecorating bedroom - question painting walls?

I'm redoing my room because it just feels a bit too boring. I've already gone ahead an painted a wall a deep red. Its about a 14x13 ft room so not too small. Initially I wanted to do a deep red walls and bring in some black or dark colored furniture. However, my family thinks it will be too much red and I will regret painting too many walls. How many walls should I paint, to keep the same feel I want to the room without going overboard?Redecorating bedroom - question painting walls?
Paint just the wall behind the bed in your red colour then put a red throw on the end of the bed and maybe black and white artwork on the red wall. This would look great with the dark furniture on the other walls. Keep window coverings light coloured.
