How do I take tape off the wall without the paint coming off?

my stupid husband taped a poster onto the wall, instead of hanging it, it's ugly, and when I pull on the tape the paint starts to come off. is there a way? scotch tapeHow do I take tape off the wall without the paint coming off?

It's called ';Goo Gone'; and you can buy it at Walmart in the aisle where the cleaners %26amp; stuff are. This stuff is GREAT. Once you start using it, you'll wonder how you ever got by without it!

I would cut it off the wall. You may have to leave the tape on until you decide to paint again. Until then, hide the scotch tape ;)
goo be gone works to get the sticky stuff off - never ever let someone put tape on the walls - it doesn't come off - did a lot of fixer uppers and 20 years later, that tape is still there - drives me crazy.
no theres not really a way, thats why you don't tape posters to the wall. buy your husband some sticky-tack for his stupider moments.
rub some nail polish remover on and around the tape.....it gets rid of the adhesive...
