If the wall are dusty vacuum. Light dirt, dirt I would use Dawn dish soap with some water and wipe. What is the best cleaning product to use to wipe down the walls before you start painting to get off the dirt?
I tried Clorox everywhere spray the other day and cleans walls, doors and counter tops with very little effort.
you can take 1 gallon warm water, and add 1 cup ammonia, and 1 teaspoon dishwashing liquid. Just be sure to rinse the walls with clear water after washing them. Do a wall, then rinse. Keep your rinse water clean. I like to use a clean new sponge mop to do this job. Be sure to use a drop cloth to catch any water.
TSP it works great gets all the dust and oil (from hands) off the wall. The paint goes on much better. You can get it at Home Depot or Lowe's
go to your local paint store and ask for T.s.p. or they wil have tsp sub. it is the best wear gloves .
mrclean works ok.give the walls time to dry before you paint.
Hot (mildly soapy) water should do the trick. You may want to vacuum/sweep the walls off first too if they're really dusty.
