How do I paint a red wall back to white?

My roomates painted our appartment wall red..our lease is up so we need to paint it back...please help! How do I paint a red wall back to white?
It will probably take several coats. Go to a paint store (i.e. Sherwin Williams) and ask them which paint will cover the best. It can be done but will take some patience. How do I paint a red wall back to white?
Two coats of a good primer and at least two coats of whatever white you're using. I moved into a house that the bedroom had 1 bright red wall and that's what the professional painters did.
You need to get a sealer, Home depot carries a Zinsser primer. There are 3 types Latex (blue), oil (gold) and shellac base(red).....If yo buy a small can of latex and try an area and see if it covers if not got o the oil base...

White primer it first, Killz usually covers up anything, then It will probably take two coats of WHite regular paint after the primer just to be sure you got it all, but be careful with ';white'; most places use an ';eggshell'; or an off white color rather than white and make sure yyou use flat if it was flat and semi gloss if it was semi gloss. Some apartment buildings use flat in all their rooms while others use a high gloss because it is easier to clean.

It will definately take a good coat of primer first, and then the paint.
I wonder if you can line it with plain wallpaper then paint that white?

Oh, and change the lightbulb to a longlife one as the light is bluer and may disguise it if you end up with a tender shade of pink
Start with a good primer/sealer such as Kilz Premium. You can have this tinted to get closer to the final color.
make sure you use primer first. then a top coat of white paint. it may take 2-3 coats of primer and paint combined. go to home depot or lowes and ask the people at the paint desk what you will need. they are helpful
A good quality primer over the red paint. Then after that dries put on at least two coats of a good quality white latex paint. The primer is the secret as it will cover the red and it will not bleed through the white color. I've even done this with black.
You must prime the wall with a very good high hide primer. BIN is a great one if you can find it. Also when you repaint the wall, if you are using another colour than white tint the 2nd coat the same colour as the top coat. BLUE
